Nato, in a comment, quotes a bunch of statistics and draws the conclusion that "Bush II beats Bush I, but both his terms have been worse than the next worst results in the last half century (Nixon/Ford)." He doesn't say where he got the data, and given that there are a lot of ways to muddle numbers, color me skeptical. It may be true, though, for the simple reason that Bush took office at the height of a probably unsustainable bubble-boom that was already bursting. When the economy has grown as much as it did in the 1990s, just to sustain the new levels would be something to be grateful for; to make further progress is an achievement.
Raise the Minimum Wage: Barack Obama and Joe Biden will raise the minimum wage, index it to inflation and increase the Earned Income Tax Credit to make sure that full-time workers earn a living wage that allows them to raise their families and pay for basic needs.
