So it appears that I'll have a book coming out soon, called Principles of a Free Society, published through the Locke Institute. The reason I haven't been posting for a while is that I've been focusing on that. I've also had my dissertation committee reorganized, and my adviser is ambitiously aiming for a graduation in August 2011. That means I may not have much time to blog in the next year, but it's hard to say.
I'm vaguely planning to start posting again here in a couple of months as a way of promoting the book, specifically of promoting the book for the sake of its ideas. Indeed, even more than that, I want to spur argument about the ideas; for while I certainly don't expect the book to be the final word on the matter, it ought at least to put opponents of my position on the defensive, if they read it at all. I will be interested to see what they have to say for themselves. I'll be glad to see who my allies are, too.
In the meantime, I've circulated it to some people. Feel free to leave your remarks about it here (or in a private e-mail, but discussing serious matters in a private e-mail feels a bit claustrophobic for those accustomed to the sunny openness of the blogosphere). Don't worry about how this affects my marketing strategy. I get few enough hits on this blog that I doubt my publisher wil complain that I'm sabotaging his sales.
