I'm a bit skeptical, but I did see the articles about it. I think I'd have to examine it in a lot more detail before I decide if it's really likely to work.

Very interesting. I can't imagine this will be very lucrative for anyone, but it could be an enjoyable pastime for those who are highly erudite but not especially creative. There are lots of those people in academia. In some ways it would provide a healthier type of incentive than the publish-or-perish model that typifies academia (in which you have to claim to say something new).
